State Design Collective ("SDC", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
When you use SDC, we collect:
- Account data: your name, email address, and password (stored securely via Supabase)
- Profile data: bio, avatar, discipline, and any information you add to your profile
- Content: projects, images, comments, critiques, and other content you post
- Usage data: actions like likes, follows, and collaboration requests
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Operate and improve the platform
- Send account-related emails (confirmations, password resets)
- Display your profile and work to other users
- Calculate your Concept and Crit scores
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data Processor
SDC uses Supabase as our backend and database provider. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and does not have independent rights to your data.
We use Resend to send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets). Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver these messages.
4. Cookies
SDC uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: update your profile information at any time from your dashboard
- Deletion: request that your account and data be deleted

6. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you request deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized data (e.g. critique counts) may be retained for platform integrity.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. If changes are significant, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
